Thinking on your feet. Well done Duty Manager.
Sunday 3rd Nov. Late afternoon, we were in BayWest Mall PE. In search of a few products @ best-discounted prices. After going to Checkers Hyper, Pick n Pay Hyper we finally went into Game. We found what we were looking for @ very competitive price. Alas! there were none on the shelf. The aisle assistant told us she'll look in the receivings, she returned with 1x5kg Cake Flour told us that it was the only one. Happily, we went to pay, though we would have liked 2, after paying we decided to as if we could have a "rain cheque" for more. At the enquiry, the counter was James Myburgh a duty Manager. He obliged and was about to write the "rain cheque" when we noticed that the bought Flour bag had a small tear. We told him that this was the last 5kg Flour. Mr Myburgh then made an offer, that if we took a 10Kg bag he'll give us an Sp. Discount and give us our money back for the 5kg.Flour in a torn bag. We agreed, then alas! the 10Kg. Flour bag also had a tear, what a sad day, when Mr.Myburgh returned from the Receiving he brought a 10kg bag of Flour without any faults. We told the Manager, that we decided to take both bags if the Manager refunds just the difference in prices between the shelf price and the till price (which was higher than the shelves). Bay the time all had been done. It was well over the Stores closing time. Thank you Mr.James Myburgh for your excellent "thinking on your feet" there was a Win - Win purchases.
