Terrible service in store and terrible order handling online

Urgently needing a new fridge, I visited the Tyger Valley branch and selected a model which was on special. As is to expected from Game nowadays, there were no visible staff available to assist. Of course there was somebody manning the credit desk, because that's where the easy money is, but they couldn't assist me. When somebody eventually appeared, they showed no interest in making an effort to get the unit promptly delivered - I was given a vague date the following week.

I thus decided to rather purchase online from Game, as the site showed stock available and the lead time would be about the same. I ordered on a Friday afternoon, my order was accepted and payment successful. I was then contacted during the course of Monday morning to be informed there was no stock. I was told it would take 3 to 5 days for my refund to be processed.

As of this point right now (on Wednesday), the site STILL shows stock availability (as it did throughout this process), but the special no longer applies. I have also not received my refund, and although I requested that the matter be escalated, have received no contact in that respect either. My order status also shows confirmed and pending handover to courier. So I'm out of pocket R10k but have nothing to show for it, which prevents me from making alternative arrangement in the meantime.

I remember Game in the past as being the place one went to by default for great service and pricing on household appliances. This is sadly no longer the case, and I will most definitely never be buying there again in future, in-store or especially online. There has clearly not been the investment in developing efficient processes to support e-commerce.
