Student discount

I am full time student who app**** for the student discount in November last year 2019 already and i never received my discount card. I went to game somerset mall several of times to get ahold of the card which i was approved for but no one could help me. Now its lockdown, i went to the police station to get an affidavit to purchase a laptop that i urgently need for online classes which i got but when i ask to.get the student discount which i already app**** for last year and which was approved i was told that the service desk was closed during lock down i now need to pay full price for the item. How is that possible surely they have my details on all their computers and im a student i cant afford to pay R5000. I had to pull strings to get the R4500 to buy the laptop that i wanted.
