Stramm rotary hammer is *******

My wife purchased a Stramm rotary hammer from Game in April last year as a birthday present. The drill gave in after less than 10 uses (motor works on hammer, refuses to switch over to drill) over the period of 8months but unfortunately for me, I could not find the proof of purchase. Game has a great policy in that they will re-print the slip if you can provide the purchase date but unfortunately again for me, they no longer stock this model and therefore cannot retrieve the slip. I then decided to book the item in and pay for the repair and was told that I would hear back from them in 21days. This was in January. I have since then been to the store twice to follow up because there was no feedback from Game, the second time I was told that the Rotary hammer is irreparable because they don't have spares for it. Stramm is a Game brand, it's less than a year old and there is no after-sales service for it? I used the product less than 10 times, how can it be broken (this is a heavy duty drill after all)? Is poor quality the reason the product was discontinued and if so, what happens to all the people who have this rotary hammer? Why does Game also not give feedback to the customer?
