Shocking / unbelievable service - Game Cresta
Approximately 5 years ago (18/2/2011)I purchased a creepy crawly from Game Cresta. When I purchased the unit it was clear that the box had been opened (and damaged, possibly having been credited by another customer). Never the less, as this was the only unit left, the sales person assured me that the unit was fine. When I returned home and attempted to assemble the unit, the various parts would not fit together rendering the unit unusable. As I was under tremendous time constraints (as I had recently moved home), I left the unit in its original packaging, only attempting to return the unit some months later, to Game Sandton. After the third visit to Game Sandton, it became clear that they were not interested in exchanging or repairing the unit, citing that I should return it to Game Cresta. I refused, leaving the unit at the Sandton store after being issued with a repair receipt. After countless calls to both the Game Cresta and Sandton Branch and after a number of contradictory promises, I was told that a creepy crawly representative would visit my home and establish what was wrong with the unit. Needless to say, this never happened. As a result of Game’s shocking service and total lack of interest, I managed to make contact with Steve Gooysen on the 8th of December 2011, whom I was told was the MD of Pentair (either the manufacturer or distributer of Kreepy Crawly). He in turn referred me to Eugenia Erlinger (a “Customer Liaison Supervisor” for Pentair Water South Africa). Unfortunately, none of the promised action which either of these two persons promised amounted to anything, and I am still sitting without the unit that I purchased 5 years later! In an attempt to finally resolve this matter, I went to Game Cresta on the 18th of Febuary 2016 and spoke to Given Langa. I was told that I needed to speak to the Store Manager (Katy Valjee). She was not in the store at the time and I was given her e-mail address. I left my phone number, asking her to contact me, which she never did. After managing to obtain her correct e-mail address, I e-mailed a summary of my complaint to her. I also went to see her on subsequent occasions, but she seems to very seldom be in the store. Three days after I sent her a summary of my complaint I was copied in on an e-mail to the same Eugenia Erlinger, in which she stated “Please can you advise on the below query. This customer has booked in the repair at Game Sandton with your Company and did not hear back from you. Please advise urgently, I do understand that is has been a long time ago. Please assist. I have copied the customer on the email as well.” On the 14th of March 2016 I received another e-mail Katy Valjee stating “I regretfully inform you that the Supplier cannot trace the repair of your Kreepy Krauly. I unfortunately cannot trace anything either.” I responded to her as follows: “Thank you for the feedback - where does this leave me though? Pls. advise”. To date, I have yet to receive a response from her. I have phoned Game Head Office who subsequently gave me a customer care line which, when phoned, did not exist. I am at my wits end and cannot believe that the Store Manager of Game Cresta takes such a lack lustre and disinterested approach to resolving my complaint, now 5 years in the making. How do I resolve this matter?
