Ridiculous

On the 16th of April I bought a Blackberry Z3 from Game Cape Gate. After 7 months it stopped reading my simcard.I took it in to be repaired under warranty. I was shocked when I was informed by a Mariska that I need to pay R2800 for the phone to be fixed. I couldnt be provided as to what the fault is. The phone was still in prestine condition as it was my secondary phone and have not been used alot. When I phoned back on the 8/11/2016 she said that the phone will be sent back to the store as they refuse to fix it without a payment being made. The fault is clearly mechanical and should be covered by the warranty? The phone is is hardly7 months old and already broke and Ihave only paid about R1800 for the phone. Whats the use of having a warranty?

We acknowledge receipt of your complaint with reference ***3 and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Senior management will get a report from the Supplier as to why the phone cannot be repaired under the guarantee. If it is due to negligence t he cost will be for you but they will advise you once they have the report.
