Return policy not

I received a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 as a gift and decided to return it to game due to the return policy advertised (if we stock it we will refund it at the current price on the shelf - no slip required). I first tried to return the phone (in its box and unopened) on Wednesday 22-04-2015 where I was referred to the sales manager on duty who said that due to the amount of theft and ***** surrounding cellphones they require a proof of purchase. I told him that I was not sure where it was purchased and that it may have been a cellphone upgrade. He said that it didn't matter as long as I have proof that the phone was in fact purchased and not ******.

I approached the person that gifted the item to me, got the POP where the phone was in fact purchased on a cellphone contract. I returned to the store but the sales manager that assisted me was not there and the branch manager was unwilling to accept the return as the item was not purchased at Game. I insisted to speak to the sales manager (telecom) who had completely changed his story and said that the phone belongs to the service provider until the end of the contract. This is incorrect and there is no security on the phone.

Hello shaun.m.vermaak,

We acknowledge receipt of your complaint with reference *** and apologize for your inconvenience in this matter.

After investigation it was found that this was part of a contract. After entering into the contract you brought the phone to the store for a refund - this cannot be done. By the time you spoke to the MM he was not aware of the fact that it was a contract phone.
