Refusal to beat the price.
It is with great disappointment that I write to you concerning the aforementioned topic. I have always believed that Game has got excellent customer satisfaction when it comes to beating the competition with its pricing policy. Today (18/01/2018 around 15:00) I went to your Vanderbijlpark Vaal Mall outlet and saw a beautiful grey Volcano Smart Backpack priced at R799. I then decided to look online to see if the bag came in other colours. To my suprice, I came across an Incredible Connection online advert. The stated product was priced at only R599 (see attachment ). I was then reminded by the big wording on the walls of the store (find it cheaper anywhere else, we will beat the price plus 10% of the difference ). I therefore decided to take advantage of this great deal. I asked for assistance from one of the friendly assistants. She asked to see the competitor price on my phone, I kindly showed it to her. She then asked to make a call to confirm it. I waited patiently as she did her stuff. She later came back to me and told me that Incredible Connection had no stock, so they can't beat the price. The horror! She continued to explain that if the Incredible Connection inside the mall does not have stock, therefore they do not beat the price. I kindly asked to see the manager to confirm this, she asked if she could try again to confirm if the competitor had stock. I waited patiently as she tried again. Moments later she came back and told me the same thing. I thereof insisted to see the manager. The sales manager afforded us his presence later. We made acquaintence and I asked Wilson if I could take advantage of the stated deal. To my surprise, Wilson told me the same thing. I continued to engage Wilson by asking if what he was saying was in writing ( the beat the price policy) , he told me "No, but it's a fact" After an effortless contued back and forth around this. He decided that he had had enough of me and my argument was senseless. I am very disappointed about the refusal to beat the competitor price because the closest physical store that also sold the product allegedly did not have stock. This was not stated in the big adverti*****t inside the store, and no policy was showed to me to support this statement.
I took it upon myself to find the policy and it does not say anything about the competitor store being in the same mall. There is no store proximity clause that governs the afformentined explanations I got from your Sales manager Wilson.
