Poor service, lies, blame game at Game Beacon Bay

My son bought a Canon printer from Game Beacon Bay in September. For R1799. He lives in CapeTown and I live in Centane. He tried to connect the printer but with no success. I too tried several times but failed. I called game and they advised to bring it in. On 28/10/23 I drove 240km to Beacon Bay Game and back but could not be helped as the technician was not there on the day.

I did the same trip (240km)again on 23November taking my laptop with to be connected. Waited for 2 hours until the shop closed but the technician could not connect. He came with all sorts of reasons why- the ink has run out, the laptop is slow and needs to be upgraded etc. I took my laptop and left driving back at night

I use this laptop in my other place and connect to a printer there. Apart from this I sensed negative attitudes. When I suggested that if there are compatibility problems between my laptop and their printer then I call for a refund to get another printer. This they flatly rejected saying the ink has run out., the fault is with my laptop. How could ink run out when the printer was never connected.

I wrote to Head office and the customer services has been making promises that are never followed by Beacon Bay. Till date I have not heard a word from them. I’ve since requested for a full refund which I assume is not forthcoming. I’m taking the matter up.

I will not do business with game again and want a refund to buy self a printer somewhere else For now Game Beacon Bay is the worst I’ve ever experience

Hi  Koleka , thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry, for the experience you had with trying to get the printers sorted and understand your frustration with driving such a distance. This is certainly not the service we strive to provide. Rest assured, your query is escalated, and you will be contacted.
