No discount because 7k is too little

To whom it may concern,

I’ve been shopping around for a washing machine (front loader) for quite some time now but have been waiting for Black Friday.

My husband and I went to the Kenilworth branch just after 3pm after seeing the Hisense 9kg advertised for R3999! Definitely a bargain! However were disappointed to hear it had been sold out (yeah we were slow), but it wasn't the fact that it was sold out, but the fact that the demo was still on the floor advertised as R3999 – no signage on the demo or the price removed to say that it’s been sold out. Apparently only 20 machines were given to the Kenilworth branch?

We proceeded to shop around, bought a Hisense 28L microwave – R1199, Logik toaster – R259 and a 8kg washing machine Defy I think for R4999. The service was really slow and not much help received and when asking for a discount considering the amount we just spent, it was a no.

We then looked on Takealot and the Candy Smart 9kg machine was on sale for R5500 and I was going to buy that, so my husband when back to Game Kenilworth yesterday to get a refund on the washing machine bought and lo and behold he sees the Hisense 9kg for R5499 (this was always my first choice) he then asked for a refund and bought that machine and once again asked for a discount but the manager said no we are not spending enough money. (Is just under R7k not enough money to get a discount?)

This is really disappointing. We bought a study desk at the same store 3 years ago, just a study desk for R1200 and we got a discount on that. I don’t understand how R7k doesn’t qualify for a discount.
