No aftersales service

Purchased an ASUS notebook model X515 from Game online on 9 May 2023 and it was delivered on 11 May, the laptop hinge broke towards the end of the warranty period. As the result, the pad and screen became loose. I took the laptop to Game Mall of Africa, just before the warranty expired. The lady who was assisting, said the laptop fell and it is not covered under the manufacturers warranty. I told her it is not the case but the hinge broke; the pad and screen got loose in the process. I then took the laptop home and put a claim against my insurance. The insurance took the laptop in for an assessment and the claim was rejected as they found no evidence of a claimable event, laptop hinge is broken due to wear and tear. Emailed Game support and was assisted by Roshni Arendse, who did nothing to assist but refuse to take accountability as the seller of the product. The defect in material is supposed to be covered under the manufacturers warranty, as it was still under warranty the time I took it in at the Game store. This is due to poor workmanship and defect in material for a brand new laptop to be in this condition after 11 months of usage.

Who said anything about physical damage? The assessment report provided by my insurance does not indicate such. Another escape goat for not taking accountability on your defected products. I must reiterate Game's s aftersales service does not exist.

Why respond privately if you know you are on the right?
Damaged unit, through normal day to day use, useless bunch, who are keen to sell defected products and blame the end user.
