Mis-representation of laptop specs
I am writing to you to raise an issue about: In-store shopping On Saturday afternoon, 16/03/2019, I bought a Lenovo laptop at The Glen store for R3599.20. The specifications on the card were as follows: - N3060 processor 1.6GHz up to 2.48GHz - 4GB RAM - 1 TB hard drive - 15.6'' HD LED screen
When I came home and powered up the laptop I discovered that it only had 2 GB ram and 500GB hard drive. I took the laptop back on Sunday afternoon and spoke to the sales person. The card with the specifications had been removed and the laptop on display was now powered on showing the specs like the one I received.
I asked the sales person, Mr. Curtis Makhubo, where the card was that were there yesterday. He made me a lair and insisted that there was never a card. I wanted to know how I knew the specs of the laptop I bought if it was not powered up. I asked why the laptop was moved to another area on the shelve and why all the other laptops have cards displaying their specs.
I also asked the manager if there was not video footage to prove that my version is correct or otherwise. Too no avail.
The complaint:
I received a below specked laptop and was only offered a refund, but I spend R350.00 on fuel to come and purchase the laptop and my time. I stay about 50km from The Glen, in Ennerdale.
I also felt very angry because the sales person made me out to be a lair.
Thank you for taking my call.
As discussed, i will be escalating the matter to management at the Glen and i will be providing you with feedback as soon as possible.
If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us on ***.
