Lying staff sellong DION WIRED goods
Game Centurion Mall. At around 4:40PM, Friday 11 September 2020. We noticed the cages of Dion Wired stock near the entrance, at what seemed to be very reasonable. The store clerk advised that all product warranties would be honored as new. We noticed a Nikon D5600 Kit that was for sale in the cage at quite a reasonable price. After inspecting the packaging we discovered that the box was missing the user manuals, the battery, and that the camera had the body cover left off. No packaging material was present. The camera also had a few minor marks on it, but nothing of any concern. We attempted to haggle the price down to cover the purchase of a new Nikon battery, But hey were not willing to budge on the price. The Clerk then offered to take my number and details to let me know the moment if, any anything changed on the product. They marked the product in pen and returned it to the cage. Note that the sale was being pushed by the staff in question and that the comment around the missing battery was given a "well, that's why it is marked down, but we will still honor the warranty". The clerk offered to take my full details along with the reasons we were interested in a bit of a haggle. We weren't really. I just needed to find out what the price of a battery and a check-up (which, we found out would be free on a new model) at Nikon would cost. 12:00PM Saturday 12 September 2020: Having decided to purchase the product, counting in all of the issues we were willing to deal with, as well as not hearing anything from the store, We drove to Game Centurion to purchase the product. For the price as indicated. Wen we saw it it was not in the cage we inquired at information and the clerk called the whomsoever was in charge of that. "I was met with "sorry, we cannot sell incomplete products, the item is not for sale". My response was " But you were more than happy selling this to me as incomplete, less than 24 hours ago? what has changed?" "No, we do not sell incomplete products," was there reply. Did Game's policy change overnight? Where is this documented, or was this ******* made up through lying. We asked if the item was still in-store and if we could talk to the manager regarding this. After a few minutes, the clerk had the most amazing answer: "No, it is no longer in the shop". What??. I then asked the clerk if he remembered me and he nodded. I asked if he remembered him offering to take my details and let me know on the status of the item, he nodded this time with his eyes closed. I then asked if he lacked the basic human decency to advise a customer on the status of an item and that he was unable to comprehend the concept of operating a telephone. To this he slowly nodded twice. Eyes closed. This goes to show how utterly useless it is to even attempt to purchase anything from Game, particularity anything of real value. This also goes to show how poor Massmart and their parent company Walmart, care about dealing with customers. This also goes to show how much BS Game stores are willing to go through, and then, when caught with their pants down, perform the most pathetic cover-up operation of the year. Do not send me some generic marketing response on this, or I'll make a mockery of that too. Call me and say the item is available at the store for purchase. It's incredible how a store tries to push a sale, and not even 24 hours later, rescinds that. Pa-the-tic.
