JVC - '55'' Curved UHD Smart LED TV LT-55N776

I recently Purchased the JVC - '55'' Curved UHD Smart LED TV LT-55N776' while game was running the cyber Monday special. This is a Smart TV and when I had tried connecting the TV to the wifi, there was an error that kept appearing. "The TV launcher has stopped working". If I clicked on "OK" to the error, it allowed me to browse for 2 seconds at max before the error popped up again. The TV would not allow me to access any other functions due to the error that kept popping up. I had to completely disconnect the Wifi in order to do anything else on the TV.

This is a smart TV but the smart functions DO NOT work. If you cannot connect the TV to the internet, how will you be able to utilize the smart functions. E.g. Connecting to Netflix or any related movie sites.

I have contacted Game stores in Mall of Africa, where I had purchased the unit and demanded that I get a return for the TV. The sales guy first said that it was the TV model that I bought and this is why I am experiencing issues, if I had bought a samsung or hisense it would not be giving me these issues. I then requested that I speak to the Manager of the store and he was able to assist and asked me to bring the TV in for a refund.

When I had got to the store to refund the TV, I thought this specific TV had an issue and wanted to swop it for another one, but I also wanted to test the new one out so I requested the TV remote for the one on display so that I can perform a test to see if it worked. The sales guy after some time of waiting brought me the TV remote. I then connected my mobile hotspot and linked the TV to it. The same error came up on the TV "TV launcher has stopped working". Game is still advertising these TV's and there is a defect on this TV model.

A note to all consumers, please perform these tests I have before its too late and you have no option but to keep the TV. Don't spend money on something that does not work or will give you endless problems in the future. This TV should not be sold and advertised as a "Smart TV" if the smart functions of the TV does not work. I believe a lot of these models were sold and my concern is that people out there are not aware of the defect.
