Inferior casing of laptop and waranty - I-Life Technologies Inc

“ZED AIR CX3 – CORE i3” Game Kolonade, designed by “I-Life Technologies Inc”

Last year October I bought the “ZED AIR CX3 – CORE i3” laptop from Game Kolonade.

I normally use my laptop at home by placing it on my lap and within the first 2 months I become aware of a cracking noise, but I didn’t really take notice of it; as I was really busy till end of Feb (studies etc).

The laptop itself works really great and is fast enough and everything I wanted in a laptop, I was actually surprised with the quality of the laptop in general as it was the first time that I have noticed this brand and bought it.

As it is summer I am normally wearing shorts when using my laptop at home and I am not sure from when, but every now and then I felt slight electric shocks and at first I thought that I am imagining it. Eventually I checked the bottom of the laptop and I saw that are 2 cracks in the casing in the middle close to the *****s and these cracks are between 6 to 9 cm in length, when I have first noticed it.

Secondly, one of the *****s where missing and some of the *****s were a bit loose – that is obviously how I bought it; it was sealed in a box – I obviously did tighten the *****s, but was careful when tightening it ( I have done a course in computers many years ago)

So, I took the laptop back to Game and they said that the warranty doesn’t cover the casing. The casing of the laptop is really extremely thin, too thin if you ask me. A little piece of the front corner of the laptop recently came of next to the ***** and it revealed how very thin this casing is.

(As I have been using laptops for many years and by accident have dropped my very first laptop, I immediately bought a laptop bag after dropping my first laptop. So, I am very careful when carrying and moving my laptop since that first incident many years ago – just saying!)

I would not advise anyone to buy the “ZED AIR CX3 – CORE i3”, designed by “I-Life Technologies Inc”, because the casing is of inferior quality, but the rest of the laptop works really fine – no complaints there. Because of the limited warranty on this laptop, I now have placed insulation tape on the bottom of the casing and around the areas where the *****s are, to keep the laptop together and to prevent it from shocking me, because I don’t have the funds to buy a new laptop again.

The previous laptops that I had, lasted for at least 4 – 6 years and then it usually was the batteries or the power supplies that stopped working. So the only reason for buying new laptops was always because these batteries or power supplies wasn’t available from suppliers anymore.

So please take note of the warranty on these laptops from “I-Life Technologies Inc”, the warranty specifically states the following:

“1 – Year Limited Warranty”
