I bought a Ryobi Angle Grinder on 19 July 2022 at R319.00. I returned the unit on 10 August 2022 as the unit failed to switch off at times. The unit got tested in store and they could not find any fault with it. They than decided to sent the unit for assessment/repairs as Game Stores had the right to send the unit for assessment or repairs. They will have feedback within 21 days. On 5 September 2022 I followed up on the issue and received a refund. Up to now I don't know why I received a refund because the unit was tested in store and according to the store not was wrong with it. I asked numerous times for the assessment report, but nobody can provide it. I thought after 5 September 2022 seeing that I received a refund it's the end of the story. Today 8 September 2022 I received a phone call from the store. The gentleman phoned me to inform me that he received the quote on the item I booked in. The quote amounted to R313.00 and he wants to know if I accept the quote or not. I'm under the impression that if a product fails within the first 6 months of purchase it's the customers choice to repair, replace or refund. I received a refund so I assumed the assessment revealed a manufacturer fault, but clearly it's not the case. Can someone please explain to me what's going on here. I'm of the view that everyone involved in this instance is completely ***********. God forbid the day I ever buy from Game again.
