horrific expereince

On the 29TH April 2016 I went to a game store in Pretoria central to go purchase a fridge, which was R5000 (DEFY 323LT bottom freezer fridge metallic) I paid R2500 cash and the remaining R2500 I took on account. I then told the lady who was assisting me that I will pick up the fridge on the 2nd May 2015 she agreed & my payment was processed and I was given an invoice with the date of collection stated as agreed.

On the day of collection I arrive at Game store with my own transport, we headed to the collection and delivery waiting point I submitted and told the man I am here to collect my fridge, after 10 minutes he comes back and tells me my fridge was sold this morning to my surprise I ask how is that possible he tells me my fridge was not marked as a sold item, not happy with the undetailed answer I demand to see the manager I was made to wait for 45 minutes with no one telling us why I am waiting this long only a lame answer by one of the staff that they “ are still checking the system” I was puzzled by this response, continued to wait for an additional 10 minutes which is now an hour of me being made to wait outside like some ******** to further add on to the injury when we demanded to see the manager, they kept sending the messenger boy who came to tell us his final words that “ your fridge has been sold there is nothing we can do” you can imagine the shock and the rage.

I then decided to proceed to the shop inside and asked to see the manager the manager was not even sympathetic that he initially did not come to address us directly and that he kept telling me it is not his fault, now my question is whose fault is it? I paid for petrol all the way from Johannesburg to come fetch my fridge, how do you sell items that have already been paid for does it even make sense? I am so disgusted by game if this is the kind of ****py services you give to your customers it’s really sickening I only received an apology only after another manager was called to come help with the problem that’s when he apologized for the misunderstanding.

We were then told that we can be sold the fridge on display only for R300 less the original price (does it make sense? A display fridge is as good as a second hand fridge and only offering R300 less really) we then highlighted we are not pleased with offer and that would like to be reimbursed for the petrol money spent to collect a fridge that has been sold I asked for my R700 transport fare to which the manager refused and said can only give me 50% of that amount, after a long battle of two hours I decided to take that 50% and asked for my R2500 back and that they cancel my debt on my account I walked away utterly disappointed in the manner this matter was handled I walked away without my fridge which I PAID for and no sympathy was shown for this nonsense. GAME STORE SUCKS
