I bought a new Black and Decker angle grinder in June it broke last week. Game client services says that the guarantee has been nullified due to the fact that I replaced the two pin plug with a safer and more user friendly three pin plug. Initially they refused to even take it in and send it away for assessment, but after a heated argument they took it in and said that I would have to pay for an assessment to be done.
I challenge Game to SHOW me anywhere on the packaging or on any insert or on any notice where it says that I CANNOT replace the plug.
PLEASE PUT THIS IN WRITING.
Furthermore, why are these machines getting imported to SA when they are clearly not compatible with our electrical outlets.
According to the SABS these machines should be earthed and therefore have a three core electrical wire and three pin plug. I believe that we are being endangered for the sake of profits.
IN FACT I personally have gotten an electrical shock more than once from the small Black and Decker angle grinders and had they been earthed this would not have happened.
