Gross Dissatisfaction with treatment by Game Store and cry for help

I had my stoves (4) at the price R24, 400, transferred from Dion Wired Johannesburg to Game (Mthatha) in 2019. I went to Game in Mthatha to confirm that they had my stoves in 2019, and I was assisted by Bheki (who still works for Game) who confirmed that Dion Wired had delivered my stoves and Game Mthatha had and safety kept them. Due to the delays in construction and after that Covid 19 (which meant the construction process was halted) I didn’t fetch the 4 stoves immediately. In 2020, I contacted Game with the view to take the stoves out of Game or get a refund. I spoke to the manager (a colored gentleman who worked for Game at the time) and voiced out my concerns and intention to get a refund. The concerns were around the time it had taken to take out the stoves and whether I would possibly end up being charged for storage. The manager at Game Mthatha indicated that I didn’t have to worry about any of the above and that my stoves are safe with them and that I could fetch them ANYTIME I AM READY to fetch them. On the 17th of June 2021, I went to Game Mthatha with the intention to fetch my 4 stoves. I met with the same guy (Bheki) who assisted me to confirm that my stoves were at Game Mthatha in 2019. The first thing Bheki said on seeing me and the receipt I brought with me was that there’s a problem with the stoves, they no longer have them. Bheki said this upon my arrival even before checking their storage. I asked Bheki how was that possible because my stoves which were fully paid up before they were delivered to Game, with extended warranty also fully paid for all 4 stoves (which meant I had a 5 year warranty on all of them), were confirmed to have been safely kept by Game both in 2019 (the year they were bought) and in 2020 when I considered a refund and that the store discouraged me to take a refund and assured me that they would keep the stoves for as long as I wanted. Bheki referred the matter to other officials at Game who spoke to REM (which I take it that it’s the Regional Manager) and the store manager (an Indian guy). The store manager had no time for mr and didn’t care to help in the situation and instead he told me that they are not a storage facility. I was told that Game changed systems since 2019 and that they would refer the matter to the Auditors, considering the total amount of my goods. I spoke to the Game call centre on the same day to register my dissatisfaction with the manner Game Mthatha treated me and the disregard they had for my case. The Game call Centre apologized for the bad service I received at Game Mthatha and promised to assist me get my stoves or refund and to have the matter resolved within 24-48 hours. I spoke to Aphiwe who referred the matter to a senior official by the Mae of Lawrence. Lawrence sent me an email also promising the resolution within 24-48 hours. I responded to the email and made follow-ups but he has not communicated back. The Game call Centre has been extremely generous with apologies and promises of speedily assisting me to get either a refund or the stoves but they have not kept to the 24-48 hours tie frame they always communicate. I am really frustrated at this stage and I would like assistance on this matter expeditiously. I had told them that I am also losing rental income as the units I built cannot be let without the stoves. I am also based in Johannesburg, it’s very inconvenient and expensive for me to have to drive ****m to Mthatha and another ****m back to Johannesburg while waiting for Game to make up their minds. It seems like Game (from the conversation I had with Game Mthatha, is now trying to hide behind the fact that Dion Wired, where I bought the stoves from closed. But the fact is that the stoves were confirmed to be at Game Mthatha long before the closure of Dion Wired. The matter remains unresolved since the 17th of June when Game Mthatha was contacted for collection of the stoves and since the matter was escalated.
