Game: the levels of stupidity are limitless

<p>I app**** at Game Brooklyn for a cellphone contract. Since I am a self-employed person working on big projects and being lump sums twice or three times year, I don't have a pay slip to submit, and my bank statements for the last three months do not reflect any of that income. I therefore submitted my official income tax statement, reflecting my annual income. I explianed the circumstances, the salesperson accepted the position and told me that my application would be considered.</p> <p> </p> <p>Game later phoned and informed me that my application had been approved, and that I should come in to complete the paperwork on the particular contract. Being fortunate to have a seven digit income, and applying for a R 299pm contract,with a good credit record, I was happy that the matter was progressing.</p> <p> </p> <p>Just as we ended the conversation, the salesperson suddenly said that I would have to bring in payslips. I again patiently explained my situation, only to be told that that was a requirement - they had checked with Vodacom - and could do nothing until I submitted payslips or my last three bank statements, although they understood that I absolutely qualified.</p> <p> </p> <p>Surely my position is not a unique one, and with my having been a Vodacom client for close on two decades, Game should have spoken to the correct people at Vodacom and dealt with the issue. But both at Brooklyn and at the national call centre which I subsequently, they simply shrugged their shoulders and left it at "that's the rules".</p> <p> </p> <p>I shall of course not shop at Game again, and the response on my social media accounts indicates that others won't either, given this pathetic level of service. If it were an option on hellopeter, I would have given Game no stars at all.</p>
