Game stores specials are not special

Game stores Newcastle Mall is really running a "my friend" ****a shop operation where the supervisor is sheriff of the town or should I say store who disregards the CPA without hesitation.

I was passing by the shop on the 4th of November 2020 around 11.30am and got attracted by the huge signage visible from way outside of the shop. The signage was that of a special of 2X6 packs of 1 litre longlife milk at R137-95 and a 5 litre Oros on special for 82-95

I then entered the shop with the pure intention of purchasing just those particular items. Upon reaching the till I was informed that the specials were over. My first question to the cashier was WHY THEN WOULD THEY STILL HAVE THE PRICES DISPLAYED AND STICKING OUT IN BRIGHT PINK and thereafter claim the special is over?

The real scene started playing out when the cashier called on her supervisor.

The lady supervisor just told me where to get off and referred me to another gentleman called Iman at that moment she was shouting and throwing her hands in the air whilst walking away from.

Now this Iman dude is the "scarecrow" of the store it seems, because when he was called you could see the fear in the eyes of the the other staff members as they waited for him as if to see him shred me to pieces, which he did. Iman is the law upon himself in Game stores and has been for years. He couldn't give a rats behind about customers or the CPA.

He was clear in telling me that I should forget about the price on the shelf or display and pay the price given to me by the other rude supervisor.

As a final year LLB student and someone with more than 10 years legal experience prior to the studying, finding myself fail to defend my consumer rights at that moment made me wonder what happens to those that don't have a clue regarding their rights.

The saddest part is that there were senior management staffers who were on the floor at that time and all they did was to watch as this Iman guy together with the junior supervisor ganged up on a customer.

GAME STORES, PLEASE MAKE SURE, WHEN THE SPECIAL ENDS, TO REMOVE THE SIGNS THAT REFLECT PRICES THAT ARE FOR SPECIALS AND DO SO ON TIME BECAUSE THAT GETS US INTO TROUBLE WITH IMAN, THE GAME STORES SHERRIF OF NEWCASTLE MALL.
