Game Stores Parow is a joke
On the 9th of August 2022, I took my out of warranty TV in for repairs to Game Parow. I was told that I would receive a quote for repairs within 10 business days. After more than 12 business days I contact the store re my repair. Was told by the very unprofessional Customer Service Agent, I believe her name is Nadine, that they never told me to expect a quote within 10 business days. Never mind that on games website it also says that a quote will be available with 10 business days. And I’m quoting directly from games website: “Product defects after the manufacturer’s warranty has expired If the manufacturer’s warranty has expired and you wish to have your goods repaired, Game will arrange a repair to take place on your behalf. A quote will be sent to you in 10 days of the goods being received for your approval. • An assessment fee may be charged whether or not the repair takes place • You will be liable for all associated costs of any repairs that are done out of warranty.” In any case, after much back and forth, after I complained to Parow stores manager, online and telephonically to game chat support. I finally get an answer back that the TV has been send to Johannesburg for repairs, as they do not do out of warranty repairs on items in Cape Town. Weeks later I receive a quote from Game Parow. They are quoting me R3999. I am in shock, my husband calls Game and they tell him, yes that is the costs to have the tv fixed. Because it was out of warranty the costs for having tv repaired will more or less be around that figure. In the meantime I email game and receive a response back from their secretary, that is the price for a new tv and not to have tv fixed but she will check and make sure. So now I have received 2 different responses, the secretary says it is a quote for a new tv and the manager (I assume or customer service from Game Parow) says that its quotation to have tv fixed. Then after a week or so, I ran into a former Game employee, whose name I won’t mention and this person told me that no, there’s no way TV was send to joburg. I must call Nuworld in Milnerton and ask if they have my tv. Low and behold, I call Nuworld and they have my tv but they are waiting on parts before they can give me a quote. On 29th of September, I receive an sms from game, your tv is ready for collection. I call them because no quote was included in the sms. And to my shock I discovered that the tv was not fixed because apparently they could not get any parts for the tv. This entire saga has been a joke, from the way customer service handled the whole situation, not giving any feedback. Relying on me, the customer to follow up every little thing, to even tracking down my tv to a repair service centre in Milnerton and not Joburg, like I was told. To sending an sms with no explanation that tv is ready for collection, omitting the fact that no repairs took place. Bad form on all parts from game stores. Since 3 August until now and no repairs done. Thanks for nothing. Apparently game stores are not doing well; I suggest the owners look at the service customers experience from their stores because after all this I am most definitely not spending my money at Game ever again. It would have been so simple to just keep me up to date to the status of my repair. Game used to have the best customer service but that is all in the pass now.
