Game Store In Gilwell Mall, East London
My son bought a Samsung 32” Smart TV in September 2021. In February 2021 there was no sound from the TV. We returned it to Game Store in Gilwell Mall, East London. Shortly thereafter my son left East London for Cape Town.
In mid March 2022 we were called and informed that the TV could not be repaired, therefore it will be replaced.
On 29/03/2022 I went to collect the TV. I was given a voucher to buy another TV. Unfortunately the same TV is now R300 more than what my son paid when he bought his TV.
A Customer Service agent by the name of Aviwe Bavuma advised me to scan the voucher, and send it to my son.
She said my son should go to present his TV license at a Game Store in Cape Town. At the same time I must be in their store with the original voucher so that I can get the new TV.
On 31/03/2022 my son went to Kenilworth Game Store to present his license, at the same time I went to Gilwell Mall Game Store, as advised by Aviwe
Kenilworth Game Store refused to give the TV to my son. They said they only accept original voucher.
What I hate most besides the attitude of Aviwe, is the fact that I have to be running after Game Store to replace their faulty TV.
My understanding of replacing something is that I give you a faulty item, and you give me a replacement without sending me from pillar to post, and involving me in Game Store processes of replacing faulty items.
I must mention that it is not the first time we bought a faulty TV from game. In fact I was advised by a friend not to but any electronic stuff from Game Stores, because they are rejects from the manufacturers. I regret not believing her.
And I’m committing to let South Africans know about the appalling service I received from Gilwell Game Store, and the fact that Game Stores electronic gadgets are likely to brake down.
