GAME STORE CAPE TOWN CENTRAL - Samsung 49" Curved UHD TV Cracked Screen
On 11 May 2018 I bought a Samsung 49" Curved UHD TV on my Game Account. I made this purchase at Game Central Cape Town CBD store.
After a friend and I decided on a TV, store assistants showed us a box which had already been opened at the top. The TV was turned on and worked correctly. We then went to pay and the two store assistants who had showed the TV packed it again. We did not see how they packed the TV into the box.
After the TV was put on my account we went to fetch it and one of the assistants said he would get a trolley to help move it. No one brought a trolley and after about 30 minutes we carried the TV ourselves. We placed it in the car laying flat.
At home we unpacked the TV and set it up. When we turned it on the left side was totally black and looked like a crack.
We both work with computers and monitors and know how to handle them. We did not drop or mishandle the TV.
The moment we noticed the crack we packed it back into the box and took it back to Game Central CBD store on Saturday 12 May 2018. They had a look at it in store again. The sales guys called the manager and all I can say is the Manager has the worst attitude I have ever seen. He did not even let us finish talking and without giving us an option or a solution just said: NOT THE STORES FAULT ITS YOURS, and that was said with a raised voice. How can a customer be treated like this when we spend so much money at Game stores.
It was obvious he thought we were incapable of following instructions. Instead of arguing with him we left the TV in the store and kept the slip.
According to the box, 6 boxes can be stacked. In order for the TV to have been damaged, one of the store assistants either pressed too hard or dropped it inside the box when it was packed before leaving the store.
