Game Somerset Mall: Forced to buy display stock at full price with zero accountability
I am writing to expose the highly unfair business practices and complete lack of customer care at Game Somerset Mall.
During a recent promotional event, I went to the store to purchase a Samsung QLED 55-inch TV. Despite the promotion still running, I was informed that boxed stock was completely sold out and only the floor display unit was available. Because it was the final day of the sale, I was given no option but to take the display model if I wanted the deal.
A display unit is a demonstration model that has been subjected to continuous operation and wear. Despite this, the store flatly refused to offer a reasonable price deduction or discount for selling shop-soiled goods. To make matters worse, when I asked for transparency and requested that the sales assistant call a manager to discuss a fair price adjustment, they outright refused.
Game's generic response on this platform stating that "the matter will be addressed with management" is completely hollow. No one has contacted me with a real solution. Selling a heavily used floor model at a brand-new retail price is a clear violation of basic consumer fairness and a deceptive trade practice under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).
I demand that Game Somerset Mall management contacts me immediately with a concrete resolution—either a retroactive partial refund to reflect the value of a display unit, or a brand-new, sealed replacement. I will not let this matter rest until proper accountability is taken.
