Game sends me to fix my own TV
I had purchased a TV from game after the one i purchased from takealot, randomly stopped working. I then took my refund and purchased a Skyworth 65" Smart TV from game.
This is now the second TV of the same model i have purchased. the first one from takealot stopped working but worked great when it did. The TV purchased from game was the same TV and model, but this TV randomly Freezes and restarts and cannot open up some apps.
When opening up apps like netflix and prime video, the TV sometimes freezes and randomly restarts. I am an I.T engineer by professional and can confirm this is not normal behavior's. This means theres an issue with the software or hardware of the TV. The TV was purchased far less than 6 months ago and game support agent Lunje Mkiv told me i must send it to skyworth for assessment and repair.
Please understand, this TV was not purchased on store credit but my hard earned money. There is no need to send a new TV to skyworth, only to receive a repaired item back. Under no circumstances will i allow for a brand new product to now be repaired and returned to me.
According to games refund policy, this TV should be returned for my money back without penalty as it is within its 6 months period.
If game wishes to repair a new TV, Let them do so on their own accord and they can resell the TV to whoever they like, but from me, as a paying customer, i will not accept a TV which has been repaired/ taken apart/ stripped by the manufacturers.
Please call me on *** to arrange collection of my TV and a refund to my original payment method. This is unacceptable on so many levels. How is a game consultant so brave to tell the customer to rectify the issue on my own.
He is expecting me to contact skyworth myself for a warranty claim? As i mentioned above, there will be no repairs or warranty repairs done on a new TV and then sent back to me.
Here is the response from the agent telling me to contact skyworth directly. From Lunje Mkiv "Hi Nicholas. I trust you are well. I tried to contact you telephonically without success. Please be advised that I call Skyworth. They advised that customer can book service call by themselves from their side. Please be advised that you can go to the Skyworth website to book the service call so that the technician can be sent out to your home. https://skyworth.co.za"
Is this game consultant aware of their refund policy? How dare you remove your entity as the seller and expect me to deal with this. I did NOT buy the TV from skyworth. I have purchased it from game.
I run a massive IT company here in Durban and im the last person you would want to get on the bad side with. I escalate matters very quickly and to the right people.
Before it gets to this, im expecting a full refund for this TV. As explained to this agent. The Box is available as it was received. the TV still has ALL and i mean ALL plastics on it. There should be no reason to excuse yourselves from this and force me to contact skyworth.
Im providing game until the end of business on Tuesday to come right and collect their TV and provide me a refund to my original payment method.
Failure to response will result in me opening a case with the CGSO and additonally, I will leave a honest and geniune review of my experience on all platforms, Additional to this, i will be contacting Google Merchant Center to explain the issues i am having and to suspend games Merchant account on google.
Game will not be able to advertise in this town again. As a ex Google employee out of the Johannesburg office, you are really playing with fire.
The matter will not be left alone and the TV has been placed back its box. I will courier this TV to games head office with a nasty message and i will be sure to post this on social media.
Thankfully, my sister is a social media influencer. The amount of people who would see this would be unfathomable and this will for sure prompt the appropriate response from Game. Unfortunately when that happens, it will be too late to figure out the influence i have.
