GAME SELLS DEFECTIVE ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS.

On the 14th of feb 2019 i bought a HP laptom from GAME in JABULANI MALL SOWETO for R4799. was a horrible mistake that was.

they had a good deal on laptops or so i thought. only a few days after having bought this laptop (4 days to be exact) the screen went black and showed no image when the laptop was on. so i took it back as any reasonable customer would, only to be met with accusations, and bad attitudes from the customer service consultants and the words "WE ONLY HAVE A WARRANTY ON SOFTWARE NOT HARDWARE" and that id be charged to repair a laptop that i had bought from them in good faith thinking that they sell good quality products at good prices.

on the day of me returning the laptop the sales lady who had sold it to me accused me of me having broken the screen on purpose before even examining it, then told me to go to the customer service desk and she'd call the desk to inform them of my issue. when i arrived at the service desk she was already on the line with the service consultant and i could overhear her saying to the consultant that the screen was broken on purpose and that i probably dropped it. so i ask then asked the service consultant to examine the laptop and show me any bumps or cracks on the laptop itself to validate the theory of me dropping the laptop, the consultant found none. it had'nt been dropped, and there were no marks on the screen or behind the screen to indicate any force that might have caused the screen to crack. thats when she said regardless of me having bought the laptop 4 days ago, the dont have any warranty cover on hardware, only software. so i agrued "i bought the hardware(laptop) and was not informed that it would come with no warranty on it, if i had known, i wouldnt have bought it" the consultant had no explanation and coudnt advise on the reason why id only be covered for software. the manager was called and he also couldnt find any evidence of a accidental drop or intentional force to crack the screen. i was then told that they wouldnt replace the laptop and that i would have to pay the full repair cost as per quote or leave with my broken laptop. i then accused them of selling me a defected product and they basically looked at me like i was a crazy person.

a month later i got a call from game with a quote for screen replacement to the value of R2500, more then half the amount of a new laptop. i couldnt believe it. and also a quote of R400 if i would like them not to repair my laptop and had it back to me as is. they called this a CANCELLATION FEE.

i truly believe GAME is selling defected products as new and the words "ON PROMOTION or SALE" are being used to lure people in and take them for a ride.
