Game Logic heaters can be dangerous

I bought a logic 3 bar heater with 3 year warranty. It has been working well since I bought it. Today it nearly burnt my house down. The 3rd bar burst while we were enjoying it and there was white smoke. I immediately went to the main switch and turned it off. The glass pieces from the bar were all over the place and my 12 year old got cuts under her feet as we were trying to vacate the room.i have never heard such a burst since I have been using electric heaters since forever. I need an advise.
