Game Gateway Umhlanga unfair tratment

am sharing my experience to warn South African consumers about what happened to me. ‎ ‎On 10 September 2025, I purchased a 75-inch TV + soundbar combo for R12,999 cash from Game Gateway Umhlanga, with free delivery scheduled the next day. ‎ ‎From the start, the delivery was highly irregular: ‎• Staff refused to switch on the TV for inspection, claiming electronics were not their responsibility ‎• I was only shown a photo of the TV powered on at the store and asked to check for dents before signing the waybill ‎ ‎Once home, I discovered a large crack across the screen, damage impossible to detect while the TV was off. ‎ ‎When I reported this: ‎❌ Game Store refused to assist, directing me to the courier ‎❌ Massmart dismissed my case, failing to fairly investigate ‎❌ I requested a written explanation, but was referred to 3rd-party solutions ‎ ‎The Store Manager, Mr. Justice Mthembu, made this worse: ‎• Arrogant and dismissive ‎• Biased, refusing to investigate properly ‎• Completely unaware of consumer rights under the Consumer Protection Act (68 of 2008) ‎• Refused accountability, shifting blame instead of helping ‎ ‎This is ******** and unacceptable. Under the CPA, suppliers must deliver goods in proper working order and consumers are entitled to refund, replacement, or repair for defective products. ‎ ‎I am demanding: ‎1️⃣ A full refund OR ‎2️⃣ A replacement TV of the same model and value ‎ ‎@GameStoreSA @Massmart – this is your opportunity to fix a clear injustice. South African consumers deserve fair treatment, accountability, and respect — not arrogance, incompetence, and bias. ‎ ‎Please share to hold Game and Massmart accountable. ‎ ‎#ConsumerRights #Massmart #GameStores #HelloPeter #JusticeForConsumers #Accountability #KnowYourRights

I want to call out Mr. Justice Mthembu, the store manager at Game Gateway Umhlanga, for his complete failure in resolving my matter. Instead of assisting me as a paying customer, he dragged his feet, dismissed the full facts I provided, and left me with an outcome that was nothing more than a 3-line excuse with zero supporting evidence.

This is not only incompetence but also a sign of how Massmart handles customers who stand up for their rights. I gave them everything proving my innocence and yet they ignored it, choosing convenience over fairness.

Shame on you, Mr. Mthembu, for representing Massmart in this way. Customers deserve accountability, transparency, and fair treatment – not this kind of disregard.

Point of correction: The TV was indeed checked at the store and verified to be in working order. However, it was never verified to be in working order at the premises upon delivery, which is where the challenge arose. Chances are the unit could have been damaged in transit, and we have provided more than enough evidence indicating that the driver was aware of the internal damage — as shown by the fact that he disregarded to switch it on after personally unboxing it. This matter was formally escalated on the 11th, yet to date we have not received proper resolution.
