Game "Beat the Price" Policy Not Honored as Advertised

Game has a "Beat the Price" policy that clearly states if you find the exact same product cheaper at any national retail competitor on the same day, they will beat that price by 10% of the difference.

I visited the Game store at N1 City to price-beat a box of Huggies wipes, which was R234.99 at Dis-Chem Baby City and R269.99 at Game. Expecting to benefit from the price beat, I purchased the item at Game. However, instead of receiving 10% off the difference between the two prices, I was given 10% off Game’s original price.

This contradicts Game’s stated policy, which clearly indicates the discount should be app**** based on the difference between the competitor’s price and Game’s price. When I questioned the application of the price beat in-store, I was assured it was correct. However, after reviewing Game’s promotional leaflet at home, I realized this was not the case. Can you clarify why the policy was not app**** as advertised?
