Game at Cresta Mall was unpleasant
My husband and I had a very unpleasant experience at Game store in Cresta Mall. We wanted to buy a grass cutting machine. The machine we saw had a price tag underneath it, we asked one of the the staff members for assistance and that is when they told us that the item was priced wrong. We said that we will pay the amount that was placed on the tool and no other amount. After a couple of back and forth negotiations, the person who was assisting agreed for us to pay the displayed price. He told us to take the machine, go to the till and he will come to explain to the cashier and manger that the item was priced wrong.
When we got to the cashier the other was nowhere to be found, he was not behind us and apparently he had left the store and knocked off. The cashier could now not sell the item to us at a different price than what she has on her system. The next best thing to do was to call the manager.
The manager came and looked around for the staff member. She told us that there was nothing she could do if she does not have confirmation from the guy who was assisting us. She asked us to return the following day to sort the issue out (and that was a high ask as we are not even from the neighborhood).
She went to check the pricing that was displayed on the tool only to do find that the guy who was assisting uw quickly changed the pricing but luckily he didn't throw away the mistake pricing, he folded it and put the right pricing on top of it.
The manager was very disconnected to what we went through, firstly her staff member **** to us and told us he will explain everything to the cashier (which he didn't do) and he left us and ran away (in hope for us to pay the right price) and thirdly he sneaked behind to quickly change the pricing so that if anything is enquired, then there would be the right price on display. The manage kept defending the staff member that he would never run away, yet there we were, alone, talking to her, without him being there.
Eventually she called the guy, thank goodness he confirmed everything and the manger changed the pricing, but now she changed the pricing which was still more than the price we saw on display (thinking they we would not see it) and we called her out in that. She fixed it to the right price we saw on display
All of this was done with no apology, empathy, explanation of the matter being resolved, she gave us an attitude and said that we were upset (I don't know if we were supposed to be smiling and jumping from being **** to by her staff member and her coming at us defensively) at the end she just corrected the mistake and walked away.
At the end, the cashier was the one who apologized on behalf of everyone and the store. She took leadership and made sure that the incident ended with us not feeling like idiots who were taken advantage of.
