GAME ADVERTISED AND SOLD A PRODUCT IT DOESN'T HAVE STOCK OF AND WON'T REFUND ME
DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM GAME'S ONLINE STORE!!! EVER !!!
On April 5th, 2020, I placed an order for a Router and a sim card adapter. Game advises 3-5 business days for delivery. The website even displayed that they had stock in a store not to far away from me, roughly 10-15km... Considering COVID-19 and lockdown, I expected a bit of a delay. No problem.
By the April 16th, no delivery, no phone call, no email, no nothing from Game. I decide to call their contact center. Waited about 10 minutes on the line before I finally got to speak to a consultant. Speaking to the gentleman and explaining my concerned, he tells me that the router I purchased is not an essential product. I counter by telling him that it is an essential product and directs him to their website where the image and the description has been updated to say that it is an essential item. He acknowledges it and tells me that he's going to speak to his supervisor and call me back. After about 2-4 hours after no call back I decide to call again. I spoke to a lovely lady that told me that they having some stock issues, but she will contact the store to find out what the hold up is. After about 30 minutes she calls me back to say the store did not answer her call and that she will follow up with them the next day and call me back. At this point, I am a bit frustrated but I understand that these things take time.
On the April 17th, I got an email from one of their consultants advising me that the reason I had not received my delivery is because of stock issues and that they are awaiting stock. This flipped me off completely.
This tells me that Game was advertising and selling a product that they do not have stock of. Also, they lack the common courtesy to offer a basic call to proactively explain that they don't have the item. The consultant offers me a refund which I of course take. She tells me that the refund will take 3-5 business days. Déjà vu?
So I wait... 3-5 business days...
Today is the April 24th, 2020. The end of that 3-5 business days, I still don't have my money. I called up their ****ING EXPENSIVE 0861 number and was kept in the queue for 50 minutes! 50 minutes, and I paid for all 50 minutes listening to some ****ty Vodacom ring tone while their pre-recorded voice tries to convince me that they "care" about my call... GET WRECKED GAME...
Still nothing from these people...
I am sad, disappointed and out of pocket because someone at GAME couldn't do their job properly. I am also ashamed that I allowed myself to believe their claims.
Your service agents aren't very helpful either. After speaking to countless consultants that only seem to care about their call count for day, I can conclude that your company DOES NOT CARE!
According to the last agent I spoke to, my refund was only processed yesterday, after Mymoenie confirmed that it was processed on April 17 and I will have my money within 3-5 working days(which happened to be the 22nd,23rd and 24th.)! I have to email to prove it or you can check the correspondence yourself. Clearly there is disorganization and a buck passing culture cultivating at GAME...
Now I receive an email saying that I will only get a refund after 14 working days!
This is very anti-consumer!
All I want is my hard earned money back... and I want it back now!
