Freezer worked for ONE day!

Bought a freezer for my new apartment on 04 Jan 2104. Had it delivered on 07 Jan. Kept it in its packaging until last week as we were doing repairs to the apartment. Switched it on on 06/02/15 and on 07/02/15 found that it was no longer working. A repairman from game/ defy has now said that the compressor is broken. After ONE day? This is ridiculous. Even worse - Game now refuses to give me a new freezer - they insist on repairing it. A freezer that works for one day surely is faulty and should not be repaired, but replaced. Disgusted at the level of service received
