Do not want to test a dvd, rather want to sell you a blu ray machine

I went to Game last Sunday to buy a dvd. Just a cheap one to keep the little occupied watching his nursery rhymes & Barnie movies. I went with the movies on a flash to test whether it would read on the dvd as I have a dvd, but unfortunately it only reads avi formats & his stuff is mp4 or mkv. The consultant refused to let me test it on their dvd as it's against their company policy. I told them that I don't want to buy a machine that's not going to fulfill the purpose as I already have one that isn't playing the formats. They rather tried to sell me a blu ray player of R1400. When I bought flatscreen tv's & appliances over R2000 I was a good customer. But when looking for a cheap dvd, I'm not worth their time & effort
