DO NOT PURCHASE : HOOVER Wet and Dry Vacuum Cleaner HWD-10

I bought a vacuum cleaner online. It arrived yesterday and once opened and plugged in, it prooved to be an awful product. It falls over since the pipes are too short and too heave for the small body of the hoover. Once it falls over it has to be switched off and back on. It cannot be effectively used at all.

I logged a return request and an agent called to say - sorry, its open and used so we cannot accept a return.

The return policy is - unopened and unused. How do you test a product to see its ineffectiveness and inability to work if you do not open the box and do not plug it in???

It is shocking that bad products are paid for and cannot be returned. Its always the majorly expensive products that can be returned if there are faults etc - since those brands care about their reputation. I guess its the bad and cheaper (and actually not that cheap) products that need to be pushed into the market with zero return ability - to make up their sales numbers.

Not sure how to proceed because its impossible to use this product sicne it cannot actually operate.
