DISREGARDING THE CPA

My dad purchased a vacuum cleaner in August from the Cresta branch, he took it back and a lady by the name of Yvonne refused to replace or refund him saying that the machine must be assessed. I called to speak to a manager and was put thru to Given Lunga who told me that they are sending it back and that they will follow their procedure and not the Consumer Protection Act that says my dad can have a replacement/refund or repair and is it his choice to chose which one.

I have left numerous messages for the store manager Katy Valjee who has not bothered to call me back. Disgusting. Game's rules do not over ride the CPA

We acknowledge receipt of your complaint with reference ***4 and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The store is within their rights in accordance with the CPA that the item must be assessed first (if within the first 6 months) before a decision can be made of replacement / refund. If the item is older than 6 months it will only be repaired while under guarantee.

The Supplier will during the assessment advise the store if it is a factory fault or due to customer abuse. Please book the item in so that the assessment can take place.

Regards.
