Dishonesty at Game - Green tone Mall

Game Stores Greenstone Mall, sold me a 65" Hisense on Saturday the 13th of April 2019.

Before leaving the store I noticed a note on the box which clearly said "please do not sell". I asked the salesman what that means, and he said the was nothing to worry about.

When I got home, I unpacked the TV, I realized that the TV was damaged, and had a white spot on it.

I returned the tv the following day, and the Store Manager informed me that he was aware that the TV was one of 3 TV's that were damaged due to water in the storeroom.

I then asked for them to give me another TV, and the Store Manager said that the stock was finished, and he could only give me an exchange with the demo one that was on the floor for a R5oo discount. To me it seemed very strange that you as a Store Manager was willing to exchange my new TV with a Second hand TV for a R500 difference.

For me this was dishonesty, as how did a store sell me a TV that was damaged, while both the salesman and the Store Manager knew that the TV was damaged.

I eventually refused to take the DEMO tv and requested a refund. For the refund I had to wait another 45mins as no teller had money to refund me.

In Conclusion, the store was dishonest in selling me a broken product. Was further dishonest in trying to rectify the dishonesty by offering me an option of taking a second hand TV for R500 less. I lost my time on Saturday and Sunday due to this dishonesty. I also had to spend on transport costs on both days.

In the end I wasted money and my personal time due to this dishonesty.
