Disheartening Experience with Faulty TV Purchase at Game

On December 27, 2025, I visited Game to purchase a TV on special for 5,500 rands. Unfortunately, they had no stock and provided the display model. To make matters worse, they sold me the TV without a box, only wrapping it in a single layer of bubble wrap and but it in a grocery trolley

When I got home, I discovered that the TV was cracked and not working. I returned to the store and requested to speak with the manager, but instead, I was met with a staff member who refused to help and blamed me for the damage. Despite paying a significant amount, Game offered no support or solution.

This experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I hope Game takes this feedback seriously and improves their customer service and quality control.

I am still waiting for Game to take action regarding my TV issue. I received communication from customer service stating that the matter would be escalated and that the store manager at Game Menlyn would contact me. To date, I am still waiting for that call.
Is this really how you treat your customers?
Even when I visited the Menlyn store in person, I was left unattended for over an hour by a guy named Jabu, I think he is the department manager. And when he eventually assisted me, the employee was extremely rude and dismissive. This is after you had already taken my money.
I have been a loyal customer of Game for years, and this experience is extremely disappointing. Loyal customers should not be treated with such disregard, especially when a legitimate issue is raised.
Game needs to take action and resolve this matter urgently. The ongoing lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable.

Hi Lesego,

I trust this email finds you well.

We attempted to contact you however, there was no answer.

We have been informed that you visited the store in December with the TV. The store  have reviewed the CCTV footage, which clearly confirms that the TV was tested in-store and was working properly at that time. As per our policy and agreement, a stamp was placed on the proof of purchase to confirm that both parties had inspected and agreed the TV was in good working condition.

Unfortunately, based on this information, we are unable to assist further with this matter. This was explained to you during the discussion.
