You would think I'd learnt my lesson having had so many bad experiences with Game but apparently I am a sucker for this nonsense..... On Thursday 1 December i phoned Game in Retail Park Beacon Bay to ask if they had stock of the Samsung Galaxy J3. They said "only in white but yes we do", i app**** for a day's leave and went in on Friday 2 December.

When i got there i was told the system was "offline". I asked how long it would be offline and was told Vodacom was working on it. I asked for confirmation - "But you do have stock of the J3s right? The 2 phones plus the Openview Decoder for R209 per month?" and the lady said "Yes, we are getting some more stock. It's on it's way now.". I asked if there would then be other colours and she said "No, only white ones still". She said she could process the contract when the system came online then i could just come sign and collect everything Saturday morning. I left my name and number and went home.

Saturday morning i went past the store again and was told the system was still offline and they would call me when it's back online. They said they had no idea how long that would be.

They called me in the week to say that the system was still offline but that i must not worry because they were running that special for the whole of December so i wouldn't lost out on the deal. They'd process my contact and i could still come collect like arranged on the weekend. I asked if she was sure otherwise she must book that special for me but she said yes she was sure.

Somehow Game Gillwell Mall heard about my dilemma and they tried to help. They said that their system hadn't been offline so there was no way Beacon Bay's could have been. Then some explanation came out that Beacon Bay's staff hadn't been for training on the new Vodacom systems so they actually have no access to the system. Then Gillwell tried to help by getting the stock to their store so they could help me and process the contract for me but Beacon Bay told them they'd already processed my contract. It became very backwards and forwards but i commend Gillwell on trying to assist me and trying to deal with Beacon Bay on my behalf.

Anyway, on Thursday 15 December, i went past Beacon Bay on my way home and asked the lady at the Vodacom desk what was happening with my contract..... She tells me "We never ever received stock of the J3".............. So she had blatantly **** to my face, she'd been stuffing me and Gillwell Mall branch around, who knows if they can actually use their Vodacom system yet or not, and the special is NOT in your current Vodacom deals leaflet.

Really? This is the kind of customer service we receive? Being **** to and stuffed around like this? I am flabberghasted. You can see the picture here of my card - you will not be receiving any more support from me and i will tell everyone i know about this bad experience...........

Best regards,
Thank you Rina. A lady named Lisa helped me (she gets a 5 star rating from me) and while i have the phones now, i had to take out TWO contracts to get them. Game needs to tighten up on advertising leaflets - better editing to make sure all the offers are correct and accurate. Then you need to make sure that all your stores receive sufficient stock for those offers. It's not the first time i want an item and the phone or laptop is not available......... This is about the 4th time i am experiencing this at Game, and at various stores in Joburg when i lived there and here in East London so it's not just an EC problem. And it's not only your phones and laptops, I've experienced it with various other items on numerous occasions too. Your stores need to also start some customer services training like the kind i had to undergo when i worked for Spar - give your customers feedback, resolve queries quickly and efficiently, etc.
