damaged tablet

i purchased a Ultimate tablet for my wife for her birthday in December at the game store in Kenilworth centre and a few weeks back the screen was cracked, i then went to the store to complain about the defective product expexting either to have it fixed or worste case to get my money back, however i was told that it would cost me R750 to fix the screen while the price of the Ultimate tablets at the same store is at a price of R950 brand new. I explained that the device never fell and was under no circumstance knocked in any way. I now have a paperweight that cost me R1500 and i can do absolutly nothing with it.
