CPA Sections 55 & 56 Ignored – Defective Gazebo at Game Key West
Company: Game Stores Branch: Game Key West
I purchased a Camp Master 210 gazebo from Game Key West approximately two months ago.
The gazebo failed under normal use due to two visibly defective clips at the top of the structure.
I returned the item on Friday, 26th. At the returns counter, the staff member did not inspect the product and immediately advised that suppliers are closed until mid-January. Only after the manager attended was the damage acknowledged.
I was informed that the supplier may only fetch the item on the 9th, with feedback only expected before February.
This delay is unreasonable for a seasonal outdoor product and not aligned with the Consumer Protection Act (Sections 55 & 56), which require goods to be durable and remedies to be provided within a reasonable time. Supplier shutdowns do not override retailer obligations.
I am requesting intervention from Game Head Office for a replacement, refund, or expedited resolution.
