CPA protecting GAME Clearwater Mall
On 26 May 2019 I visited the Game Clearwater Mall Store to purchase Orbit chewing gum that was advertised for 2 for R300. When looking around the store I couldn't find a single container of this product. After inquiring one of the staff members went to look for it and eventually found it hidden away in the store. Upon paying at the counter they presented me with a printed copy on A4 paper that they are sorry for the wrong advert. After talking to the manager on duty who actually refused to listen to my complaint. All he told me the entire time is that they are covered in terms of the CPA by showing me that piece of nonsense paper. I tried to explain to him that I had traveled specifically to purchase this product. He couldn't even take into account that I also had to pay for parking. I also tried to explain to him that I don't know what the CPA laws are around these types of incidents and that he needs to show me where in the CPA He kept telling me that the secratary is not in to print it. I then told him that we live in an era of technology and that he can use an IPAD that they sell to show me and i'll happily accept what he is telling me. This manager just looked at me with a blank facial expression on his face. This is the second time in a five year period that I had this kind of service from the same Game store. It is actually unacceptable from the manager as the staff the themselves didn't even know about this. This piece of paper is kept behind a counter until someone asks for the products. And the fact that they actually removed it from the shelves to make customers think that they are sold out just shows how sneaky and ********* they are. I also had other products i wanted to purchase and handed it to the manager and told him that I would rather spend my money somewhere else and he was more than happy for me to do that and just leave the store. He was very unprofessional and actually all he could say is that they are covered by the CPA. What about me the unaware consumer. I am very disgusted with this store and the manager as this is the second incident like this in the same store. I want everyone to know how Isaac Melk, the manager at this store treated me. His name tag says Hello, I'm here to help you but all he wanted was get me out of the store with his arms folded across his chest. That kind of body language indicates that he was not willing to listen and completely closed himself off to the discussion. I even took a photo of how he stood with his arms folded across hos solar plex. Maybe GAME staff should also be taught body language as people like me can read body language very well. I'm going to try and get my complaint out there and want as many people to see it. I want people who have had similar incidents but have done nothing about it to see it as well and actually take it up. This is the kind of service I as a consumer will NEVER accept.
