Bad service, bad attitude and selling inferior, refurbished products!
I purchased a Telefunken 55" Smart FHD LED TV and extended warranty from Game Pavillion on 27/07/2017. Less than a month later, the TV became problematic. There was a dead pixel on the far right side of the TV and a red line running down the middle. There were also red flares across the entire screen. On 25/08/2017, I went to Game Westwood (because it was most convenient for me at the time) and spoke to a consultant who logged a call for a technician to come out and have a look at the TV. At 3.05 the same day, the consultant contacted me and told me it was best to bring the TV back and they will issue us a full refund because it's been less than a month since the purchase. Now my husband have to borrow a car each time to take the TV back because it doesn't fit in ours, so we had to borrow a car the next day to return the TV. Upon returning the TV, we were told that it is now R6999 and they will give it to us at the same price we bought it for. However, most stores were out of stock, and the only store that stocked it was Game Watercrest. They ordered the TV and we were told we would have to wait until the 30th, which we did. On the 30, we received a call from Avinash, the consultant who helped us, who told us the TV was there. Again, we borrowed a car, drove off to Game and bought the TV. The consultant switched the TV on, but only to the homescreen and everything seemed fine. We took it home and while hooking it up, we discovered that the TV had two "right" fittings on the TV for the legs, but a right and left leg, so we couldn't put the TV on the stand and had to have it fitted on the wall. Once the TV was on, we saw that there were green flares across the entire screen! (these don't appear on the homescreen). You can understand how frustrated we were at this point. We had to go back to Game the next day to return the TV, and while we were there, we weren't attended to for over 15 minutes. My husband lost it and created a scene. Only then, did we have people running to us with assistance. Is that what it comes down to? Anyway, the manager, Naresh Harilal, was rude and came to us with a volatile attitude. I noticed that he removed his name badge before he came to us. Instead of understanding how upset we were, he kept on patronizing us and pushing us further and further. I explained to him why I thought this TV was an inferior product and refurbished. I also explained that I had a certain budget and that I want a 55" Smart FHD LED TV because Game would only issue me a voucher and not give me the money back. Guess what? Game Westwood had NO STOCK of any TV that fit those specs, BUT they had 4 TV's displayed in the store. I was livid! The only TV they had was a Sinotec UHD TV priced way over my budget. After some negotiation, I was only able to get a measly R500 off the TV and had to fork out another R1700. At that stage, I just wanted it to be over and accepted it. There were so many other things happened which I haven't included in this review. I am so sick and tired of Game and their terrible service to their customers. Why is it that I had to run around a hundred times because of their inferior, refurbished stock? That I had to pay R1700 over my budget because they didn't have TV's in stock? That we had to humiliate ourselves in order to get some sort of service from Game? I've had bad experiences before, but this really tops it off. I have no faith in Game and the people who work there.
