WARNING : Defective Product Wedding triple set; poor comm; unresolved after 10mnths waiting...

Date: 12 July 2016

Place: Port Elizabeth

Store: Galaxy & Co.

Branch: Walmer Park

People concerned: Store Management to Regional Management

Overview

Dissatisfied with the quality of Galaxy & Co product (Wedding Triple Set) and the service from store to management after 10 months we still do not have a wedding ring that we have paid for.

Our wedding took place in May 2016, we are disgusted how the situation was handled. Our time wasted and money spent on traveling to and from the store was never considered nor reimbursed along with poor service.

This is an extremely heart breaking story, the bride which is me still does not have my very own paid for wedding set. I call the heartless!!!

We received a factory default product which this Galaxy was supposed to issue us with a new set “that’s all” but nothing but time wasting issue after issue.

Galaxy & Co, people who worked on this matter are as follows: Nicolette the Store manager, Bruce Harper Regional Manager for Galaxy & Co.

I have my receipts and dates that showcasing our (my husband and I) endless battle for a fault that is not even my own. I refuse to accept a defective product that I paid so much money for as I brought a “new” item to my knowledge this “new of Galaxy is now questionable to me. We asked them to send the ring in to get it tested to see whether their gold is up to standard but they refused. Instead Bruce offered to replace the product with the “same product”. Instead we were presented with a completely different ring which where were highly dissatisfied with as it is not what we bought. All I wanted was my ring, (that took me a year to find), to be replaced and compensation for my time, emotions and disappointment.

Galaxy & Co Walmer Park, Port Elizabeth up to this date: 12 July 2016 still has my ring and my validation certificate.

This is unacceptable and I will be taking this up with my lawyers as nothing is resolved.

Breakdown of the events

8 months from our wedding:

Bought a Triple set wedding ring in September 2015 from Galaxy and Co. After the ring was resized it was placed in the safe.

5 months from our wedding:

In December 2016 we first took out the rings and notice discolouration (the ring turned copper in colour). The Store Manager Nicolette, confirmed that this is “normal for gold”. At this point we had been in and out of the store with minimal correspondence from the store. The manager took the ring in and referred to it as oxidation, this ring was never worn at all. A brand new triple set wedding band. We were very dissatisfied and not happy as this has never ever happened to any of the gold we own, we have never seen anything like this before. The ring set was sent to the jeweller and was returned to us in a couple of days. We place the ring away in awaiting our wedding day.

2 months from our wedding In May 2016

We again checked on the rings and found the rings to have turned a copper colour with a sticky far worse than the first time it happened. We insisted to have the ring replaced, after a month we finally had a meeting with the Regional Manager Bruce Harper, as the store manager was powerless to resolve this by our wedding.

We had a wedding with rings that were not fixed, very heart sore experience as the ring are apart of the big day, I can honestly say that they spoilt it as we have been fighting for months and months.

Bruce then notified us that he has sourced a replacement ring for us and arrange to meet with us Monday 25 April 2016. To our demise he did not pitch for our scheduled meeting, and there store didn’t even have a ring. Once already in store Nicolette apologised for not notifying us at 17.15 for a 17.30 meeting…

At this point it was safe to say that we had been in and out of Walmer Park Galaxy and Co. This has raised countless questions regarding the authenticity of the products sold, customer services and customer satisfaction.

A week later 3 May 2016

We finally met with Bruce Harper on Tuesday 3 May 2016 at 17.30pm. This was yet another disappointment as he did not bring the same ring we bought with. After analysing the ring and explaining the expectations we had a week later Friday 13 May 2016, we again where met with the most horrific and feeble attempt to solve our problem.

The ring he had sent was a complete mismatch, this was a week before my wedding date which was the 21 May.

5 days from our wedding,

My fiancé has no ring and no feasible explanation has been received as to when and how this will be resolved. No mention of our countless trips to the store roughly 80km per trip. No reimbur*****t / gifts have been discussed to remunerate us for all the visits, missed meetings, lack of communication and sheer ignorance towards a customer.

Today we are two months after our wedding and still dissatisfied, we have no plausible solution without a ring that we bought. Instead still fighting to get what we paid for.
