We responded to a advert on Gumtree: Isuzu Engine for sale. We were called back by Belinda de Beer who asked what engine we were looking for and when we said its a 6HE1 engine she said that she would check if they had any in stock. She called back and said they had 1 in stock and it would be couriered down free of charge within 5 days of receipt of the deposit. We received a proforma invoice and duly paid the deposit of R40000.00. We waited and after a week called to ask where the engine was, only to be told that a 'problem' had been discovered with the injector pump and that the mechanic was working on it and it would be sent the next week. This will go on for weeks, everytime a 'new' problem arises first injectors, then valves, the head and even the so called mechanic Dewald called to explain another problem with the engine. We were eventually left with no option but to cancel and ask for our deposit back as our truck was standing and we were losing business everyday. When we asked for our deposit back we were given a new set of excuses as to why the deposit could not be paid back. We have made a case against GAI / Belinda de Beer. Case No: 67/1/2018
