Complain

Good day. Complaint: Gadget Paradise. The Grove Mall. Pretoria. ***

It is with great frustration and sense of helplessness that I am writing this letter to you. I feel that vulnerable costumers are being taken advantage of and ****** and ****med out of their money and there valuables. About a month ago my nephew took my IPhone to the Gadget Paradise to replace the battery that was purchased from their shop, upon replacing the battery something exploded in the phone, as I entered the store, the store was full of smoke and smelled like wires burning, I asked my nephew what happened, and he told me that something in the phone exploded when the older guy inserted the new battery. There were 2 of them in the shop, the assure me that all is ok and the phone is working.

On my arrival home, I realized that some calls came through and others not, there was a black mark inside the screen, most of the time when people call...I could hear them, but they could not hear me, so I took the phone back, they took the IPhone and say they will replace the LCD and the speaker and gave me a loan phone, I think it was about after 3 days that they call and told me my phone is ready I can come and pick it up.

So I went the next day, returned there phone and got mine and I went with a friend to have coffee at Mugg and Bean when I kept receiving calls and nobody could hear me nor could I hear them, as I was still in the Mall...I went back to the cell shop and explained what is happening, so they tried to call on my phone and identified that what I am saying is indeed so, they again gave me the same loan phone and said that they will send the phone back for repairs.

About a week after that they called me and told me the phone was ready for pick up, so I went back, when I got there, the guy that supposedly was the manager and the one that inserted the battery that blew up was not there, it was a new manager with the same younger dude that was witness to all the above from the time the phone exploded, so the new manager told me that the phone was fixed and the previous manager was fired because of his incompetence. He wanted to show me that my phone was in working order, so he called from his cell phone to mine, and sure enough, just like the previous time, it seems to be working, within a day, the same problems with the phone started again, so I returned to the shop, at this stage the manager became very agitated and aggressive telling me that it was not his fault, that I need to go and look for the other manager, after a long back and forth, he finally decided to take the phone again for repairs, and gave me the same loan phone again.

This time it took about 10 days before they called me, the manager called me last Thursday 17th Sept and informed me that the phone is fixed and ready for pick up, I specifically asked him...are you sure the phone is fixed and he answered yes. I only managed to go this morning 22/09, on my arrival in the store about 9.15, the younger dude was at the desk, so I said... you guys called and said my phone is fixed and he said yes, and asked for their loan phone which I handed to him, and he immediately took out my sim card and said he is calling the manager at the back, so here come the manager, took out my phone and told me....WE CAN NOT FIX THE PHONE, I was in shock, I was conned and ****med, I asked him why did he **** to me when he called and told me the phone was fixed, he said he only realized afterwards that the phone was not fixed, and the company needed their loan phone. Those guys are not honest, they are ******* and conning people, something need to be done, because I am not going to leave it like that, I was taken advantage of, I had to travel back and forth numerous times, I was very patience and cooperative with them, this kind of behavior should not be tolerated by the mall management from shop owners that operates so scrupulous and dishonest.

I sincerely hope something can be done, and nobody else fall into the same trap as myself.
