Disappointing purchase
We bought a Peugeot 2008 HDI 2018 last year from the N1 City branch. My friend test drove the car, all seemed fine. We were told the car was serviced and passed road worthy test and were valeted etc. We got the car eventually and it was extremely dirty, there was no coolant in the vehicle, the back rubber of the boot was all broken, the original car mats you could clearly see on the ad, were taken out and dealership car mats (that did not fit) put in. All that were sorted eventually and Peugeot car mats, touch up paint and a new rubber were sent. The valet was also paid for to be redone. The service book of the car was never stamped and recently I have noticed a screeching sound when braking. My dad, who is an auto electrician, had a look and he said the front brakes were totally shot and starting to wear on the disks and that it is very dangerous to drive like that. So now I have driven the car a while without any coolant (which was sorted and spotted by the guy who redid the valet) and now I am driving without proper brakes. I am very happy with my car, it is just disappointing that I have to sort out all these issues. For the amount of driving I have done with the car, the brakes should not have been shot at all. When we received the car in December last year the car had 58000 on the clock and today it has 60183. There is no way that 2000 km driven, can cause the brake pads to be shot. Car was last serviced at 55299 kilos. I am at a loss for words and wondering how this car passed the road worthy with the brakes being shot.
