To all South Africans I've purchased a vehicle from this dealership in N1 City, Cape Town. After looking at the demo vehicle (as told by the salesman) 3rd of January 2022 the rear bumper and rear left fender and scratches and dents which I've asked to be repaired. However when the vehicle arrived in Port Elizabeth on the 13th of January 2022, there were certain issues which was upsetting since this vehicle was sold as a demo model. The dealership and salesman were very arrogant in the whole ordeal and insisted that all pre-owned vehicles had cosmetic work done on them some or other time. After asking in an email whether the vehicle has been in an accident, not getting a straight answer. Some of the issues included loose fuel filler cover, loose ABS pump causing ESC electronic errors, cut wires causing malfunctioning of the stop/start function, welding cracks on the chassis, poor paintwork on the front right fender and bonnet and removal of microdot identifiers, and several more. When asking for my money back the dealership was arrogant saying they will charge depreciation and AA rates for kilometres travelled whilst being in possession of the vehicle. However the whole ordeal was taken to MIOSA which delivered even worse service as they are there to protect the consumer, but the outcome was that I should return the vehicle at my cost to the dealership and that the dealership have the right to charge AA rates. Doesn't appear the Consumer Protection Act is working in South Africa. The case was taken to an Attorney for review with a file full of evidence. This evidence included the confirmed accident with images and letter from the 1st owner's insurance indicating that they are writing off the vehicle, the whole history indicated the owners and this was never a demo model owned by 2 dealerships as indicated on the VW service history. Also made contact with the owner that sold the vehicle to the dealership and this vehicle was repaired at a private guy in Stikland, Cape Town not an approved bodyshop. Thanks to this ordeal that proved you can never trust anyone!!! At least I got my money back every cent I spent on this dealership. I hope all South Africans would do more investigation before purchasing a vehicle from a pre-owned dealership like this. I'm pretty sure this returned vehicle is already on their floor waiting to be sold to someone else.
