Verbal assault on minors by Driver (Future Stars Pre Primary, Pinetown, Durban)

I have had to terminate my children’s contract with Future Stars Pre Primary School (afternoon transport) in Pinetown, Durban with effect immediately. Future Stars is a preprimary school that also runs an aftercare and transport service.

My children, 10 and 7 were verbally assaulted by the driver on Thursday 21 February 2019. I arrived home that evening and my children (10 and 7) reported that Wally (the driver) swore at them. He called my child a son of a *****. Wally said his whole family is stupid after telling my child that he is stupid. All of this because he came out of his class late.

Not only that, when he got home he left my children on the street and did not wait for them to get to our gate - which is a panhandle property.

I am very disturbed by such behavior from an adult towards children. I am utterly disappointed that in this day and age children can be left unattended to and be verbally abused by those that we have entrusted to their care.

Unfortunately when I contacted Cindy Labron (the owner) and Maria Marias (transport co-ordinator) about this incident, there was no remorse and my children were branded as *****. I was called to a meeting with Cindy, Wally and Maria who were all talking over each other trying to convince me what ***** my children are.

They also said I should bring my children to face Wally. In other words further traumatize them. What a sad realization that the very people we entrust our precious children to, do not care about them. They are not interested in their wellbeing. It’s all about money.

I cannot undo what has been done to them. But I can chose to stand up and fight to protect what God has entrusted me with.

Parents, train your children to tell you everything. No one has a right to speak to ANYONE in that matter.

Unfortunately the Management at Future Stars Pre Primary couldn’t be bothered as they showed me. They don’t care.

Gone are the days were we will just walk away. Without us and our children they have no income. But they treat us like dirt.
