VOLKSWAGEN SA are ****** who lie and ***** from their customers.

I was sold a faulty Renault Megane by Paul and Amit at VOLKSWAGEN HATFIELD/NORTHCLIFF. I didn't get to inspect and test drive the vehicle because I live in cape Town and they are in baseb Johannesburg. I took their word for the condition of the vehicle. They used the balance of maintenance plan and full service history to fool me and I bought the vehicle.

I notified them in writing in approximately an hour after the vehicle was delivered to me that it was making a terrible noise from the left front. They **** and said the vehicle was inspected before it was sent to me. I asked for a proof of inspection and they didn't have it. I then took the matters into my own hands and had the vehicle tested in cape Town at Renault multifranchise. The vehicle was partly diagnosed and as a result the steering rack was fixed under warranty. I had to wait for more than 4 months for a part to arrive from France. Eventually the part arrived and it was replaced but the problem persisted.

The service centre was not sure of what was the cause of the noise. I called Amit and told him that I was still sitting with the same problem. He said I must have it checked the warranty should fix everything . I didn't have money to pay for a diagnostic test. I had to wait for pay day. The vehicle was booked in and they found that the noise was caused by gearbox mountings and shocks. Unfortunately they were not covered under warranty.

I called Amit and told him. He said I must send him a proof of inspection he will discuss it with Paul, I also notified Paul. Paul told me that he didn't have the power to approve the repairs and that he would need an approval from the head office. I allowed him time to go to the head office. He was not coming back to me. I made follow up calls and emails. Eventually he came back to me. He wrote me an email and said the head office decline his request because I have been having the vehicle for more than 6 months and that the shocks and mounting were wear and tear I must go to renault and ask for a discount.

I expressed my disappointment to him and told him that I will have to complain. I asked for the details of the person he spoke to at head office so that I can use their conversation to support my case and he refused. I then asked him to provide me with the contact details of the persons I can complain to and he refused. I then google the procedure. I also asked for the history of the vehicle at renault and they made it available to me. The history of the vehicle revealed that the shocks and mountings were declared faulty 3 months before the vehicle was sold to me. The history of the vehicle also revealed that the brakes were fixed twice under one year. I then wrote an email to the complaints department and they told them that they were obliged by the consumer protection act to sell the goods that are in good working condition. They said the consumer protection act was not in line with their in-house rules. They refused to fix or replace the vehicle. They said the only thing they can do is a trade in but I will have to pay the difference between the book value and my settlement amount.

I asked them to take their vehicle back and cancel the deal. I wrote Paul an email and told him that I will have to involve the lawyers. He called me and said I must go to MIOSA because the procedure will be free for both parties. He also sent me an email saying I must go to MIOSA. I then took his advice and went to MIOSA. The process took more than 7 months. I waited for the outcome without driving the car because it was declared unsafe to drive.

I was shocked to learn from the resolution of MIOSA that the people who recommended MIOSA to me manipulated the facts.

Paul and Amit **** to MIOSA and said I complained after a week even though I have the proof in writing. They also **** and said the vehicle was fixed under warranty and that there were no issues. They manipulated the facts and told miosa that I did 13000 ****ometres after the steering rack was replaced. The 13000 ****ometres are from when the vehicle was delivered to me to when it was declared unsafe to drive. I was driving the vehicle while it was making noise because they said there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. I have been sitting with this problem for 14 months. I have been paying since delivery.

My job is at risk as a direct consequence of this issue. I am always late at work and my daughter is also affected. I am unable to drop her at school in time because we both travel by public transport. The nature of my job requires me to work overtime. I am unable to work the overtime because I dont have the transport. My employer told me to fix this issue or seek an alternative employment because I always miss my deadlines. I am extremely disappointed by how Volkswagen South Africa treated me. I have the emails to prove the above. I can provide them on request.

VW are ******. Paul also **** and told me that they went to all the banks and they all declined but he had to negotiate with VW Finance. I now know because I am in the process of buying a house, I monitor my credit score and credit reports monthly . I don't see his enquiries on my credit bureau reports. The report I have shows that he only went to VW Finance. Paul and Amit are ******. I could have had a better interest rate elsewhere had they went to the other banks. These guys are ***** who don't care about their customers and the harm to the name of Volkswagen. VW might be damaged by their bad ethics. They are a time ticking bomb. I am not going to give up on this. I will expose VW SA by any means necessary. I will exploit all possible media platforms to warn the consumers about these ******.
